When the 2024 - 2025 school year begins, Battle Creek High will be welcoming an additional staff member: Mr. Tyler Prauner. He will be teaching 8th and 9th grade social sciences as well as an 11th grade science course.
Prauner grew up in Battle Creek, Nebraska, graduating from Battle Creek High School in 2014. He attended Wayne State College and graduated in 2019.
Currently, he is a speech language pathology aide (SLPA) for Educational Service Unit District 1 in Wakefield, Nebraska. Since January of 2020, he has provided speech services to students in grades K - 4 at Umonhon Nation Public Schools in Macy, NE. He stated that he thoroughly enjoys getting to work with the Omaha Nation people and that it has been an incredible experience. Since joining the ESU, Prauner has been working toward becoming a certified speech language pathologist and plans to continue working towards his certification over the next few years.
In March, Prauner got engaged. His fiance, Ali, has a daughter named Alexis, and Prauner indicated that although he does not have any biological children yet, he considers Alexis his own. She will be a freshman at Norfolk High School next fall, and he enjoys supporting her activities and interests in his free time. Prauner enjoys attending live sporting events and concerts as well as traveling.
Prauner stated that coaching is one of his biggest passions in life, specifically the sport of football. He began coaching football for Wayne High School in 2016 and did so through the 2021 football season. For the past two seasons, he has voluntarily helped the Battle Creek football team as an analyst. Prauner continues his love for sports as a huge Detroit Lions fan, Kansas City Royals fan, and a NASCAR Fan.
Welcome home, Mr. Prauner.
